Scott Trial 2009

I know I am deviating from Low Barn but between work and running low Barn I am for my sins the editor for the Scott Trial programme. I have been involved in doing the programme for eight years now and have just started finding advertisers, sponsors, article writers etc for this years programme. So if any of you bloggers who come across my blog have any ideas for this years programme please let me know.

    Its probably too late for this years programme but my Dad rode in the scott trial in the sixties on his Greaves which he still owns. He now observes the section called Reels Head and has done since I was born. I am 35 and have helped observe the section come rain or shine ever since I was about 4. It is now a huge family occasion every year and now my daughter accompanies us onto the hillside as we observe all the bikes coming through. I am sure that my dad could write an amazing article about the Scott over the years from the prospective as a rider back in the sixties and now an observer. The Scott holds a special place in all our hearts and I am sure that he would be happy to put something down on paper for the programme.

    The next section along from ours is observed by Geoff Eddon. He has also been a part of the Scott trial for as many years as my Dad. Unfortunately his father Syd Eddon passed away this year. Syd did a lot for the trail over the years and I thought it might be nice if possible to put something in the programme to commemorate his huge efforts over the years.
